Lust for Youth & Croatian Amor

Lust for Youth & Croatian Amor

Lust For Youth and Croatian Amor have joined in collaboration to bring the record All Worlds into the world.

Lust For Youth is a Danish-Swedish electronic duo, originating as a solo project by Hannes Norrvide in the early 2010s. Initially characterized by raw, lo-fi production, Norrvide shaped a cold, minimalist aesthetic with releases like Solar Flare and Growing Seeds. When Malthe Fischer joined, the band’s evolution took a distinct turn - bringing a more melodic direction to the music.

In 2013, the project expanded into a trio with Loke Rahbek. Together, Norrvide, Fischer, and Rahbek created International (2014) and Compassion (2016), the latter praised for its polished, stadium-like sound that blends melancholy with vibrant, emotionally charged melodies. After Rahbek’s departure in 2016, Lust For Youth continued as a duo, embracing a more expansive, genre-blending approach that fuses shoegaze intensity and subtly gazing more toward rave culture, creating an immersive, nostalgic experience.

Loke went on to start Croatian Amor - a project that realizes a distinct and brilliant intimacy about the bracing pace and chronicles of the contemporary world. Often using a mesh of real events and places as a platform for a largely dreamlike play, Croatian Amor composes with pop artifacts of the circuits that interlace our lives. Sometimes speaking in loneliness, though often telling of trysts, Croatian Amor presents a longing for indeterminate sensation. Employing a medley of diffuse electronic music traditions, fantastical synthetic worlds are evoked to make this world just a little more habitable.

In 2019, Lust For Youth released their self-titled album, which was applauded as “bold and bright.” Although often classified as synth-pop, their recent singles — “Accidental Win” (2022), “Giorgia” (2023), and “Blue Suzuki” (2023) — show a clear evolution beyond that label, leaning into broader soundscapes. This progression culminates in their upcoming collaborative album with Croatian Amor, All Worlds, set to release on Sacred Bones Records on March 7, 2025. Influenced by genres like garage and hip hop, All Worlds draws inspiration from the Golden Record sent into space, exploring themes of belonging and connection.
