Yves/Son/Ace, a solo offshoot from The Factums/Love Tan, play experimental synth pop with a desolate, murky atmosphere and references to Suicide, Joe Meek-style futures, the most paranoid Ralph Records releases and Industrial 80s minimal wave. Vocals come on like Alan Vega through fairgrounds of hiss, with oscillating music box melodies and doomy three note keyboard patterns giving way to boombox drones and almost Hive Mind-style static. The whole deal has a perfect weirdo edge that would’ve sat nicely on the Japanese Vanity label alongside Tolerance et al. Comes on clear vinyl. —Volcanic Tongue
